FAQ

When will school reopen?

Our 2020-2021 school year is scheduled to begin on August 19th. We do not expect this to change at the present time. We are actively working on a reopening plan that will ensure staff and students return to a safe and effective environment.

How will students be graded during the closure?

Traditional grades will not be assigned for the third trimester.

Is school lunch still available?

Yes! Starting 4/20, lunch can be picked up Mondays and Wednesdays 11:30am to 1:00pm at Buena Vista. Students will be able to pickup up additional meals to cover days where there is no lunch service. Please see the flyers below for additional information.

Are there extra computers available?

Yes! We have Chromebooks available to ensure students have access to online resources during the closure. Please contact Travis Baraki (tbaraki@spreckelsdistrict.org) to arrange a time to receive a Chromebook.

I don’t have internet access in my home. What can I do?

We are able to offer a mobile WiFi hotspot to those without internet access. Please contact Travis Baraki (tbaraki@spreckelsdistrict.org) if you need assistance with internet or other technology access. Alternatively, Comcast and Spectrum are both running special offers for families impacted by the school closure.

Beginning April 14th, a public WiFi network covering the BV library parking lot will be available. This WiFi network will be broadcasting from 7:00am to 9:00pm daily. Please observe all social distancing guidelines while using the WiFi.
